Hello! I’m Lindsay and here is a little bit about me.
My home is in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada but my office is on the worldwide web. Until recently, I was an entrepreneur for 8 years. Now, I am fully invested in a corporate 9-5 job in human resources and marketing.
After several years of developing my business skills as an architectural & design representative, I founded my own company importing & distributing specialty candies in Toronto, ON. Yes, I was the "candy lady". Through this experience I also co-founded a co-op style retail store and managed several online stores and social media accounts. Needless to say, I was forced to learn the ins and outs of being an online entrepreneur first hand and on many different levels. I experienced tons of wins but also some fails which I learned and grew from. Fast forward almost 5 years when I moved on from my Toronto businesses and moved back to my home town (where my heart is) to enjoy the Okanagan lifestyle.
Once I was settled in the Okanagan, I began to freelance as a virtual assistant where I was able to learn a ton of new marketing skills as well as general business knowledge. Juggling life as a single mom running her own biz, isn’t easy! In September of 2018, I accepted a dream job in a corporation. Yes, I was back to the dreaded 9 - 5 which to many creative entrepreneurs spells D-E-A-T-H. But, to me, this was an accumulation of all my hard work as an entrepreneur.
As I work through the daily corporate life, I realized the pain points of the side hustler which isn’t widely recognized or understood. I realized that side hustlers need specific skills, encouragement and knowledge that makes them unique in the entrepreneur world. My goal is to ensure that side hustlers feel their work matters and give them the tool to build an efficient and strategic foundation for their business to get to the next level, whatever that means to them.
